Your reputation is
more than a name.
03Identity & Impersonation
Fake profiles of your business, founders and senior people are used to reach the people who trust you. We record them quickly and report them through each platform’s impersonation process.

AThe problem
What it
looks like.
Impersonation usually targets relationships rather than systems: a fake director messaging suppliers, a cloned company page offering “support”, a copied profile approaching investors or candidates.
Why it matters
The damage lands on the people who believed it. Clients pay the wrong account, staff share information they shouldn’t, and the real person spends weeks proving who they are.
BWhat we do
What’s
covered.
For founders, directors, executives and public-facing professionals, and the businesses they lead.
- 01
Fake profile reporting
Profiles using a person’s name, photos or bio, reported under each platform’s impersonation policy.
- 02
Executive watch
Regular checks for profiles pretending to be your founders, directors or senior staff.
- 03
Business identity misuse
Profiles and pages posing as your business to contact your customers.
- 04
Fraudulent profile reporting
Accounts using an identity for scams, fake recruitment or investment pitches.
- 05
Evidence collection
Screenshots, profile links, messages sent to your contacts and timestamps, in one record.
- 06
Cross-platform coordination
One case when the same fake identity appears on several platforms.
- 07
Repeat impersonation checks
Watch for new accounts after an old one is removed.

DWhat you receive
Clear about what’s in,
and what isn’t.
Every case includes
- Verification of the person being impersonated, or of your authority to act for them
- Evidence capture of each fake profile
- Reports prepared for each platform’s impersonation form. Where a platform asks for an ID photo, the person uploads it to the platform directly.
- A short notice you can use to warn clients and staff
- Tracking until the platform responds
Not included
- Finding out who is behind an account
- Contact with the person running the account
- Reports about clearly labelled parody or commentary
- Police reports. We’ll tell you where and how to make one.
What we can’t guarantee. Each platform decides for itself whether to act on a report, and how quickly. We make sure your report is complete and accurate. We will never promise a removal, and we are not affiliated with or endorsed by any platform. If your situation needs legal advice, we’ll say so and point you to the right help.
Can you report an account on someone else’s behalf?
Some platforms only accept impersonation reports from the person being impersonated or their authorised representative, and some ask that person for an ID photo. We verify identity or authority first. Where a platform wants an ID photo, we prepare the report and the person uploads the ID to the platform, so we never hold a copy.
Someone is using an executive’s identity to scam people. What else should we do?
Warn clients and staff from your real channels, report the scam to Scamwatch, and if money or accounts were taken, report it through ReportCyber. If anyone is in immediate danger, call 000.
How fast is it?
We aim to review new requests within two business days. Each platform sets its own response time, and some take longer than others.
