DraftFor professional review
We collect only what we need to review and act on your request, and we protect it carefully. This notice explains what we collect and why.
What we collect
- Contact details: your name, email and, if you give it, your phone number
- Details of the rights holder you act for, and your authority to act
- The links, descriptions and files you send us as evidence
- Identity verification results. Verification is done through a secure provider. We keep the result, not copies of your ID, unless the law requires otherwise.
- Payment records. Card details are handled by our payment provider and never stored by us.
How we use it
To review your request, verify your identity and authority, prepare and file complaints, update you on your case, bill you, and meet our legal obligations. Platforms receive only what their reporting process requires, and their forms may pass some of it, such as your name and contact details, to the person reported.
Storage and security
Evidence and case records are stored with encrypted service providers, some of which may store data outside Australia. Access is limited to people working on your case. We keep case records for seven years after a case closes, then delete them, unless you ask us to delete them sooner and we are not required to keep them.
Your choices
You can ask to see or correct your information, or make a complaint, by replying to any case email or writing to info@branddefence.com.au. If you’re not satisfied with our response, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner.
